Nigel undertakes all aspects of implant and advanced restorative/ reconstructive dentistry.
His main area of interest lies in the replacement of missing teeth, aiming to achieve high levels of natural appearance and function. He is also extensively involved in training, teaching and mentoring dentists within the field of implant dentistry.
Qualifying as a dentist in 1988 from the University of Manchester, completing a Masters Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology at the University of Sheffield in 2003, becoming one of the first dentists in the UK to achieve this.
In 2008 he achieved Membership in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, from the Royal College of Surgeons, England and was subsequently admitted to the General Dental Council’s Specialist List in Prosthodontics.
Nigel continues to participate in further implant related training, in the UK and abroad. Since 1999 he has held a weekly teaching position at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield. He is a post graduate tutor, lecturer and examiner for the Masters Degree in Dental Implantology at the University of Sheffield. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh Diploma in Implant Dentistry and sat on the SAC (Specialist Advisory Committee) in Restorative Dentistry until November last year.
His role at the University of Sheffield is primarily clinical teacher in implant prosthodontics, and he is the UK instructor dentist for Ivoclar Vivadent for the BPS denture system.
