John Wibberley
Qualifications: Dip CDT UCLan (Liverpool), FCGDent
John Wibberley qualified in 1978 from Manchester Polytechnic as one of the first full-time students to achieve a Certificate in Dental Technology. He began his career in prosthodontics at Manchester Dental Hospital and later gained valuable maxillofacial experience at North Manchester General Hospital.
After achieving the advanced City & Guilds qualification in Crown and Bridgework, John joined the RAF Dental Branch in 1980, where he developed extensive clinical and technical expertise. He later founded Portland Ceramics in 1985, building an international reputation for excellence in implant-supported restorations and removable prosthetics before selling the business in 2001.
Awarded a Fellowship of the British Institute of Dental and Surgical Technologists in 2005, John has lectured internationally and continues to advance his expertise. After qualifying as a Clinical Dental Technician in 2015, he trained in Japan under Dr Jiro Abe and became an international instructor in the Lower Suction Denture Technique.
Today, John is the Laboratory Technical Director at Tipton Training, overseeing the technical direction of laboratory components across all courses. He brings a wealth of knowledge and decades of clinical and laboratory experience, ensuring delegates benefit from practical, high-level restorative and prosthetic expertise.
