Overview

Clear aligner therapy is now a major part of modern dentistry, yet many clinicians lack a structured understanding of biomechanics, occlusion, and treatment planning. This course provides a complete framework for the safe, predictable delivery of aligner therapy in everyday practice.

Designed for general dental practitioners, the programme bridges the gap between orthodontic theory and clinical application. You’ll learn not only how to move teeth, but why movements succeed or fail—giving you clarity and confidence in case selection and treatment planning.

What sets this course apart is its strong emphasis on occlusion and TMJ health. It is one of the only aligner programmes in the UK to focus on these critical areas, enabling you to manage cases effectively while minimising the risk of occlusal or temporomandibular complications.

By the end, you’ll have a complete understanding of the aligner workflow—from diagnosis and planning to design, production, delivery, and long-term management.

Structure and learning experience

The programme is delivered over four intensive face-to-face days, combining evidence-based teaching with hands-on, practical learning. You’ll learn through a blend of:

  • Interactive seminars covering core principles and theory

  • Hands-on workshops using aligner design software

  • Practical sessions on staging, attachments, and case setup

  • Laboratory-based training, including 3D printing and thermoforming

Each stage builds progressively—from foundational concepts through to real-world implementation—mirroring the full clinical workflow. Guided learning and case-based discussions reinforce understanding and support confident decision-making.

The structure is designed for immediate application in practice, ensuring you can integrate new skills into patient care straight away.

Clinical focus and outcomes

This course develops a clear, structured, and evidence-based approach to aligner therapy, with a strong focus on predictability, safety, and long-term outcomes.

You will learn to:

  • Understand clear aligner principles, tooth movement, and case selection

  • Apply occlusal principles, including TMJ assessment and retention strategies

  • Analyse aligner biomechanics and understand movement predictability

  • Plan and design cases confidently using digital aligner software

  • Create effective attachment strategies and staging protocols

  • Manage mild to moderate malocclusions with greater control

  • Understand and implement in-house aligner production, including 3D printing and thermoforming

  • Deliver aligner treatment clinically, including attachment placement and finishing techniques

  • Troubleshoot cases and carry out occlusal adjustments for long-term stability

You’ll gain not only practical skills, but a deeper understanding of why treatments work, allowing you to approach cases with confidence and clinical clarity.

Certificate

On completion, delegates are awarded a Certificate in Clear Aligners from Tipton Training, along with 24 hours of enhanced verifiable CPD.

This course is ideal for clinicians with little to no prior experience in aligner therapy, providing a solid foundation to begin treating mild to moderate orthodontic cases.

Whether you choose to produce aligners in-house or work with external systems, you’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to take control of the design and planning process—ensuring predictable outcomes and high-quality patient care.

What our delegates say

Dr Mohammed Isacc

Clear Aligners Course

I can confidently say the Tipton Clear Aligner Course is the best clear aligner training I’ve ever attended. The course covered in detail planning clear aligner treatments using Nemocast digital planning, which was a game-changer. I’ve completed a few courses focusing on basic prescriptions and delivering aligners, but I wanted biomechanics and detailed planning. Dr Kerolos is an incredible teacher who explained clearly and inspired me with his passion for orthodontics. His teaching gave a solid foundation in clear aligner therapy and hybrid orthodontics.

Dr James Roxburgh

Clear Aligners Course

Dr Kerolos Alhakeem's course provides a comprehensive explanation of aligner therapy: theory, biomechanics, case selection, designing set-ups, and 3D printing in-house aligners, allowing full control and cutting out the middleman. I do not plan to design myself and will continue to delegate, but a deeper understanding helps me assess and criticise designs and give better instructions to the technician, saving time and getting it right first time. His passion is infectious, leaving me with a new mindset and confidence for more complex cases. Thanks also to Dr Ahmed. I cannot recommend this course highly enough.
