Doug graduated from Birmingham University in 2003 winning the Centenary cup, he then went to do a years vocational training in Cheltenham and won the case presentation prize for his Worcestershire vocational training group and was awarded membership of the faculty of general practitioners in 2005 by examination. In 2008 and 2009 he completed two year long restorative dentistry courses with Tipton Training in Manchester and following this was awarded the Tipton training practical restorative dentist of the year award in 2009.
Doug became a partner at the practice in 2013 and in the same year was shortlisted for “Best Young Dentist” at the Dentistry Awards. In 2017 Doug became the first digital dentist representative for the International Digital Dental Academy. In 2018 Doug was awarded the certificate in Aesthetic and Restorative dentistry by the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry through examination and case presentation and in 2019 became a regional representative for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a beta tester for 3Shape and RolandDG.
Doug enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a particular interest in digital dentistry, dental implants, endodontics, restorative and aesthetic dentistry. He regularly lectures on digital workflows in dentistry and mentors other dentists on this subject.
Outside dentistry, Doug is the proud father of two boys, Sam and Ollie. His interests include guitar playing, singing and snowboarding.
