Frequently Asked Questions

Accreditation Questions

What is a Level 7 Course?

A level 7 course is the equivalent of a Master’s level post graduate qualification on various British Frameworks and is a recognised assurance of quality which is externally verified. To gain this accreditation, we went through an extensive approval process with EduQual, an established UK Awarding body offering a range of qualifications that have been credit-rated for the SCQF by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

A Level 7 Certificate course has multiple units (usually between 4 to 6) and are usually completed within a year. Each unit has specific learning outcomes which are assessed regularly through multiple choice questionnaires, reflective write-ups and structured feedback on hands-on work.

Upon completion of a Tipton Training Certificate or Diploma course and the assessments involved, delegates will receive a Level 7 Certificate / Diploma awarded by EduQual and accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. The learning outcomes will also be evidenced by a transcript including the units covered and the credits awarded for each unit.

Attaining a Level 7 qualification allows you to put post nominals after your name, but only if Level 7. Whilst the dental industry has several private training organisations offering post graduate training programmes, the vast majority are not accredited by established UK awarding bodies.

What was the Level 7 accreditation process like?

Tipton Training became the first private dental training centre to gain Level 7 accreditation back in 2017. We worked hard in developing our previous course portfolio into Level 7 Post Graduate Certificates & Diplomas, in order to offer our delegates courses that are Level 7 National Vocational Qualifications. These differ from other Industry qualifications primarily because they are recognised by registered awarding bodies.

To gain this accreditation, we went through an extensive approval process with EduQual, an established UK Awarding body offering a range of qualifications that have been credit-rated for the SCQF by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

Our courses achieved Level 7 status after our curriculums, methods of delivery and assessments were verified by a UK Awarding Body. It is due to this independent review and quality assurance that delegates can rest assured that they are getting the best quality education and Enhanced CPD’s on our courses. We can guarantee credibility, qualification status and value for our delegates.

What does RCSEng Accreditation mean?

We are proud to announce that Tipton Training Academy is the first and only private dental training institution in the UK to be recognised and accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This prestigious accreditation is a mark of excellence, acknowledging the outstanding quality of surgery-related education provided by our centre.

Accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons guarantees that our educational programmes meet the highest standards, offering participants and delegates confidence in the quality of the learning experience we deliver.

Achieving this accreditation involved a rigorous review process, during which the Royal College of Surgeons assessed every aspect of our surgical education centre – including our facilities, resources, faculty, educational portfolio, and the infrastructure and quality management systems that support our courses.

We are incredibly proud to be the only private dental training institution in the UK with this distinction, highlighting our commitment to delivering exceptional dental education.

Will I receive a recognised qualification?

Yes, upon successful completion of one of our Certificate courses, you will be awarded a Level 7 Certificate in your chosen course, accredited by both EduQual and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This qualification is both nationally and internationally recognised.

For those who complete a Diploma course, you will receive a Level 7 Diploma in your chosen area, along with Level 7 Certificates for each course that forms part of the Diploma. All of these qualifications are again fully accredited by EduQual and the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and recognised both nationally and internationally.

Is a UK-accredited Certificate & Diploma recognised internationally?

Yes, UK-accredited Certificates and Diplomas, such as those awarded by Tipton Training, are widely recognised globally. They can significantly enhance your professional reputation and expand career opportunities, both in the UK and in your home country.

What if I don’t want to gain a Level 7 qualification?

If you prefer not to complete assessments for a Level 7 qualification, we offer the option to attend our courses as Non-Level 7 participants. This option is perfect for those who wish to benefit from the course content and experience without the requirement for additional assessments or coursework outside of the course days.

If you choose a Non-Level 7 course, you will receive a Tipton Training Academy Certificate of Attendance, accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng). You will not gain a Level 7 Certificate from EduQual.

What times do the courses start?

Most of our courses begin with registration at 9:30am, followed by teaching starting at 10:00am and concluding at 5:00pm. For specific details on timings, please refer to the course schedule. To receive the schedule for your chosen course and location, simply submit an enquiry here- Enquire Now.

How many delegates are expected on the course?

The intake for our year-long courses is usually between 10-24 delegates per cohort, although this varies depending on the course, location and capacity.

On practical days we try to maintain a lecturer-to-delegate ratio of 1:6, ensuring an optimal learning environment. This setup allows for personalised attention from our experienced tutors while also fostering peer learning, as delegates benefit from sharing techniques and insights with one another. We believe this balance creates the ideal formula for an exceptional educational experience.

Do we provide lunch?

Yes, we provide lunch and refreshments throughout the course day.

What if I have dietary requirements?

Please email us at courses@tiptontraining.co.uk if you have any dietary requirements. While we try our best to accommodate your request, we cannot guarantee it.
