Diploma in Dental Implantology (Level 7)
The Diploma in Dental Implantology (Level 7) combines the essential teaching of implant surgical and prosthodontic techniques including Occlusion, Treatment Planning and hard & soft tissue surgical techniques.
The Diploma is targeted towards dentists who are keen on developing their implant treatment skill set, to cover simple and complex cases. This Diploma is a combination of the Level 7 Certificate in Restorative Dentistry, the Level 7 Certificate in Dental Implantology and the Level 7 Certificate in Advanced Dental Implantology.
Recommended Course Structure:
Year 1: Level 7 Certificate in Dental Implantology
Provides a solid foundation in dental implantology, emphasising evidence-based, safe, and predictable treatment approaches. As a live patient course, there is significant focus on patient selection and identification of suitable implant patients using latest techniques and diagnostic tools. We ensure that planning stages are comprehensive and thorough, assuring that the patient journey is smooth and predictable.
Year 2: Level 7 Certificate in Restorative Dentistry
This course covers the fundamental principles of Restorative Dentistry, offering an in-depth understanding of key areas such as Occlusion, Periodontal and Soft Tissue treatments, Articulators, Occlusal Splints, and Treatment Planning. These essential topics are critical to ensuring the success of implant treatments and enhancing your overall restorative skills.
To move on to Year 3, you must:
- Complete the Level 7 Certificate in Dental Implantology (Year 1)
- Complete the Level 7 Certificate in Restorative Dentistry
- Receive mentoring for at least 10 implant cases. Implants placed under supervision during Year 1 can count towards this.
If you need additional cases, we offer an intensive one-week experience in Egypt to place 10 implants under expert mentorship. The cost is £8,000 including flights and accommodation. Contact us for more details or to express interest.
We recommend completing your additional implant placement mentoring alongside completing the Restorative course.
If you have already completed other EduQual accredited year-long Restorative and Implant courses and have placed 10 implants under mentorship, you can move directly to the Advanced Implant Year 2 course. Proof of study and case studies demonstrating your experience will be required to confirm your eligibility.
Year 3: Level 7 Certificate in Advanced Dental Implantology
Builds on the knowledge from the Implant Year 1 course, delving into more complex implantology cases.
This course is divided into two parts:
1. Part 1: Online Theory Modules
Choose one of the following hands-on experiences to complete your training:
- Option A: Personalised Mentorship for 15 Additional Cases
Receive 1:2:1 mentoring for an additional 15 implant cases either at your mentor’s clinic or in your own practice. The case fee, arranged between you and your mentor, will go directly to your mentor.
