Tipton Training’s new Masters level courses i.e. Level 7 Postgraduate Certificates and Diplomas have been structured to improve treatment delivery for patients, according to the founder.
Professor Paul Tipton – who founded Tipton Training 27 years ago – believes dentists who complete the organisations new courses will be able to deliver better treatment to their respective clients.
“It’s an exciting time to study with Tipton Training. As an approved EduQual centre, we now offer Level 7 (Masters Level) Postgraduate Certificates and Diplomas.
Dentists should remember that these are National Vocational Qualifications. They are nationally recognised, and specifically designed to give dentists the skillset necessary to increase their income and competitiveness in the jobs market” explains Professor Tipton.
What are Level 7 courses?
“Simply put, a Level 7 course is a Masters level course. It’s difficult for private dental training centres to obtain Level 7 status. Usually universities go through this as part of their natural process. We have been working on this for more than 12 months now.
In fact, this status is only awarded to courses after the curriculum, its method of delivery and assessment is verified by a UK awarding body such as EduQual. As an organisation, Tipton Training has opened itself up to rigorous quality assurance tests to ensure we meet a baseline standard.
What’s more, we’re committed to maintaining these standards through continued investment in educational resources and internal checks on our assessment procedures. This will be the focus of our senior management team” adds Vivek Gupta, CEO of Tipton Training.
Ultimately, Tipton Training believe their new Level 7 courses will equip delegates with the skills required to deliver better treatments, increase income and improve career prospects.
“Dentists should think of the Level 7 label as an independently assessed mark of excellence. But more importantly, they should trust that Tipton Training courses will deliver the knowledge and skills to make them better dentists. The foundation of any successful practice is treatment quality and patient care. By teaching dentists established practices which are highly researched, our courses give dentists the tools they need to succeed. This is the key to an affluent and satisfying dentistry career.
Furthermore, because our courses are nationally recognised, our delegates will have an advantage when it comes to securing well-paid positions in an increasingly competitive industry” explains Professor Tipton.
Postgraduate Certificates & Diplomas
Tipton Training has developed five Postgraduate Certificates (Level 7) and five Postgraduate Diplomas (Level 7). Dentists can now book places on the following courses, all of which start in October 2017.
• PG Certificates in Restorative Dentistry
• PG Certificates in Operative Dentistry
• PG Certificates in Aesthetic Dentistry
• PG Diploma in Prosthodontics
• PG Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry
• PG Diploma in Restorative Dentistry
• PG Diploma in Implant Prosthodontics
There is a distinct difference between a Postgraduate Certificate and a Postgraduate Diploma.
A Postgraduate Certificate (Level 7) course has between four and six units that take one year to complete.
By comparison, a Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) course has between 10 and 12 units and can be completed in 12 or 18 months. An extended course can be completed within approximately 24 to 36 months. Essentially, a Postgraduate Diploma is the equivalent of two Postgraduate Certificates.
Making Training Affordable
Tipton Training has also put steps in place to make the cost of their courses more affordable.
The dental training centre has secured authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer interest-free finance to dentists. This means that dentists can pay for their course over a prolonged period of time.
