With decades of combined experience across restorative, aesthetic and implant dentistry, our Senior Lecturers are at the heart of everything we do, shaping courses that empower dentists to deliver excellence in practice.

Our courses are led by experienced clinicians, respected academics, and recognised leaders in their fields, each bringing specialist expertise across restorative, aesthetic, implant and periodontal dentistry.

Beyond teaching, our senior lecturers play a central role in shaping and leading Tipton Training’s programmes. Professor Paul Tipton – Founder & Lead Lecturer


Qualifications: BDS, MSc, D.G.D.P RCS, Dip Rest Dent, Dip Imp Pros, Dip Pros, Dip Aesth Dent, FCGDent. Specialist in Prosthodontics. Visiting Professor of Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, City of London Dental School.

Professor Paul Tipton is the visionary founder of Tipton Training, an internationally recognised prosthodontist and one of the world’s most respected dental educators and clinicians. He is one of the few appointed Professors in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry in the UK, and also holds a Master’s degree from one of the top universities in the UK. 

Prof. Tipton has been teaching for over 30 years and has authored more than 100 scientific articles for the dental press. His passion for education and clinical excellence has made Tipton Training a benchmark in postgraduate dental training. Many UK dental training academies have also been founded by dentists he has trained, reflecting his influence across the profession.

Paul has been celebrated with numerous accolades throughout his career, including yearly listings amongst the 50 most influential dentists in the UK and top 100 doctors worldwide. Alongside practising at his clinics in Manchester, Nottingham and London, he continues to lecture extensively across the UK and internationally.

Dr. Adam Toft – Clinical Director, Restorative Course


Qualifications: BSc (Hons), BDS (Hons), MFGDP (UK), MMedSci (Rest Dent), Dip Aesth (BARD) FBARD PGCertEd (Sheffield)

With over 30 years in dentistry, Dr. Adam Toft brings a deep wealth of clinical and educational experience to Tipton Training. As Clinical Director of the Restorative Course, Adam leads the design and delivery of this flagship programme, ensuring it reflects cutting-edge practice combined with evidence-based teaching.

As Principal of Cavendish Dental Care in Chesterfield, Adam leads a well-respected multidisciplinary practice combining general dentistry with advanced restorative treatments and full-mouth rehabilitations.

Having also served as a Clinical Tutor at Sheffield’s Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and an Educational Supervisor for over 15 years, Adam’s engaging and structured teaching style helps delegates build confidence and competence in complex restorative treatments, with a focus on real-world application.

Dr. Ash Rayarel – Clinical Director, Operative Course


Qualifications: BDS, MFGDP(UK), MSc (Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry)

Dr. Ash Rayarel is known across the dental community for his exceptional mentorship and clinical skills. With over three decades in practice, Ash has dedicated much of his career to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate dentists, both in the UK and internationally. As Clinical Director of the Operative Course, he champions a teaching approach rooted in clinical relevance, helping delegates refine practical skills that they can apply immediately in practice. 

Ash also maintains academic roles at major UK dental institutions, having served as an Educational Supervisor to Foundation Dentists, tutoring MSc students, and advising the Healthcare Commission on clinical matters, further reinforcing his dedication to shaping the future of dentistry.

Alongside his educational work, Ash has made a significant impact in general practice. He was Principal of AshDental & AshAesthetics for more than 25 years, transforming the clinic from a single-handed practice into a thriving multi-clinician team.

Dr. Matthew Holyoak – Clinical Director, Aesthetic Course


Qualifications: BDS, Dip Rest Dent (RCS), MSc (Rest Dent), FCGD (UK), FBARD (UK)

Dr. Matthew Holyoak is an accomplished clinician, educator, and thought leader in the field of restorative and aesthetic dentistry. With a career spanning over three decades, Dr Holyoak has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, ethical care, particularly in smile design, composite restorations, minimally invasive ceramics, and implant-based rehabilitation.

Education and clinical mentorship have always been at the heart of Dr Holyoak’s career. He leads Tipton Training’s Aesthetic Course, blending restorative precision with artistry in smile design. He also served as a Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), where he was Clinical Education Supervisor for the MSc in Prosthodontics.

With extensive postgraduate experience and involvement in academia and industry, Matthew’s passion for teaching reflects both scientific rigour and clinical creativity.

Dr. Maria Hardman – Clinical Director, Implantology


Qualifications: BDS, DUI(Dip Imp), MCGdent Dip MJDF, MFDS RCS, PG Cert (Risk Mitigation)

With over 40 years of clinical experience, Dr. Maria Hardman is one of the UK’s most respected names in implant dentistry. Maria has played a key role in shaping UK implant education, having mentored postgraduate dentists through the Implant Masters Programme at the University of Central Lancashire and as an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick.

As Clinical Director of the Dental Implantology Course, Dr. Maria Hardman brings specialist implant expertise to Tipton Training’s curriculum. Her clinical leadership ensures that delegates develop comprehensive implant skills grounded in best practice, safety and long-term success.

Maria’s experience in surgical and prosthetic implant work equips delegates with both the confidence and competence to integrate implant dentistry into their practices.

Dr. Hugo Grancho Pinto – Senior Lecturer, Periodontology


Qualifications: BDS (Lisbon) 2004. Specialist in Periodontology, lecturer at Manchester University

Dr. Hugo Grancho Pinto is a specialist in Periodontology and a recognised academic lecturer at Manchester University, bringing advanced periodontal knowledge into Tipton Training’s programmes. He has been working in private practice in the areas of periodontology and implant dentistry exclusively since 2006. He is a Senior Tutor on the Implant programme, and teaches Periodontics on our Restorative & Aesthetic courses also. His expertise strengthens delegates’ understanding of periodontal health as a foundation for predictable restorative and implant care.

Dr. Andy Carragher – Senior Lecturer


Qualifications: LDS RCS, BDS, MClinDent, CPS

Dr. Andy Carragher combines 25 years of clinical practice experience (including 21 years as an owner and Principal of his own practice), with a strong background in restorative education. A former Senior Clinical Lecturer at Liverpool University Dental Hospital for 12 years, Andy specialises in advanced composite techniques and helps delegates refine core restorative skills with precision and confidence.

John Wibberley – Laboratory Technical Director


Qualifications: Dip CDT UCLan (Liverpool), FCGDent

John Wibberley brings technical mastery to the faculty as Laboratory Technical Director. As an independent, world-class dental technician—without affiliation to any specific lab—John provides unbiased advice and hands-on support during many of our course days. His presence gives Tipton Training delegates a unique opportunity to gain practical insights into laboratory procedures, troubleshoot challenges, and ask questions directly, enhancing the clinical learning experience with real-world, lab-based expertise.
